THE FAVORS PART DEUX.

While I may not have shared the full story behind how my fiance and I met, a portion of it ties into the thought behind the favors I plan to make for my wedding. Both my FH and I are huge music fans with very eclectic tastes. With Christmas approaching a mere week and a half from the date we met, we decided to exchange very simple, inexpensive, but meaningful gifts.

Our challenge was to pick our Top 50 most favorite songs of all time and make an autobiographical play list on Rhapsody - which we swapped on Christmas Day. This was an extremely hard project - a 50 song limit made for slim pickings for me and I was rather skeptical about the message I wanted to send him, especially in regards to song lyrics, as we had just met! However, to this day, this remains one of my all-time favorite gifts ever received from ANYONE EVER.

I have Rhapsody To Go service which delivers unlimited music
to my PC, web browser, or my Sansa MP3 player.
$14.99 per month at Rhapsody.

With music being such a huge part of who were are and in turn, a huge part of what our relationship is all about, we felt that this was crucial to convey to our wedding guests. Sure a DJ could play all night - but we wanted something that lasted for more than a single day, just as our Christmas gift had for each other. CDs became the obvious favor choice for our guests, so I began to look for inspiration as to how I would accomplish this.

A Jewelboxing CD Package.
$220 for a set of 150 at Jewelboxing.

My fiance suggested we use Jewelboxing for the actual CD packages - they are awesome because they look professionally packaged and the inserts can be easily printed on your home printer. I will be able to design the inserts to fit my needs, including a booklet that explains the story behind our gift and the meaning behind each song for each of us.

I love these CD boxes KSirish decorated to hold the CD Favor Seating Cards.

However, I stumbled upon one other piece of awesome inspiration from KSirish's Knottie Bio. She used her CDs as seating cards - they were organized alphabetically in decorated CD boxes with a custom concert ticket attached to the outside where guests could find their table location. This was a perfect solution for me - and a easy way to combine budgets for two projects!

KSirish used a Martha Stewart CD package which contained these Thank You Sleeves - so cute!

I will not be doing the cute, custom, concert tickets - but rather creating vellum removable stickers with my Xryon to place on the spine of my Jewelboxing CD cases. Then each guest will find their name between these awesome CD Dividers I found, and in turn, their table location as well. When it's time to shelve the CD after it's been taken home, the seating card sticker will be easily removed and thrown away!

Aren't these custom concert tickets cute!? KSirish used them as her seating cards.

I'm really looking forward to this project - so stay tuned for updates as I complete the DIY!
